The Rejection of Christ by the Jewish Leaders

The Rejection of Christ by the Jewish Leaders
Matthew 21-22.

I love how God gives us opportunities to be part of bigger and better things.  It is up to us to make the correct choices in order to partake in these opportunities.  The Jewish Leaders of Christ’s day were perfect examples for “what NOT to do”  below discusses their poor choices.

How were the Jewish leaders of Jesus’ day like each of the following:

1)   The fig tree in Matt 21:17-20

Jesus was rejected of the Jewish Leaders just like he was denied fruit from the fig tree. Jesus could see that the tree refused to grow fruit and bless those around that hunger.  Likewise those that refuse to accept the truth refuse to progress and bless others with their progression and are cursed because of it.

2)   The Second son in Matt 21:28-32

They Jewish leaders of Christ’s time were like the second son because the claim that they will go and do the will of God but refuse God’s own son who is doing that which God instructed. The claim they will follow God’s will but do not.

3)   The husbandmen in Matt 21:33-41

They abused and killed those doing the will of God (such as Christ) after they were given so much of God. They were given opportunities to repent but would not. They sought destruction of the Son of God.

4)   The wedding guests and the men without the wedding garment in matt 22:1-14

They refused the blessings of God and the Constant invitation for them to come and be in his presence. They abused the gift and killed his servants that were there to invite them to bigger and better things than what they would allow themselves to know and those that attended were not fit to be there because they failed to prepare themselves. They were cast out for many were called but few were chosen
